Problem:
A valve body manufacturer was producing a vacuum relief valve for locomotive tank cars. During railcar draining operations, valve clogging issues emerged. While these issues were rare, a valve body failure can potentially lead to a railcar imploding due to negative pressure created.
Solution:
Airsan worked with the valve company through the complete design, test and implementation of a custom air filtration solution. Since utilizing our filter design, the customer has experienced zero failures. Also, by streamlining our production methods, we reduced the unit cost of their products by more than 15%. Airsan in turn passed that savings along to our customer.
